Our department, in collaboration with the Department of Chinese Literature and Yunqi Academy, is organizing a community field study in Dong'ao Community. This initiative aims to explore the community's active promotion of marine conservation and fish consumption education while gaining insights into local revitalization and fishing village culture. Students will step beyond textbooks, embracing a broader perspective of local history and traditions through direct engagement with the community.
As part of the program, students will participate in a beach cleanup to contribute to marine ecology. They will then visit Fenniaolin Fishing Harbor to observe the daily operations of fixed-net fishery practitioners. Known as a hidden gem of Yilan and often compared to Ha Long Bay in Taiwan, Fenniaolin Fishing Harbor offers breathtaking landscapes. Here, students will appreciate the grandeur of nature, concluding this immersive learning journey enriched with marine education and visual delights.
